ABOUT ME

I learned to quilt about 26 years ago when I moved to New York City from California, and shortly after that began to teach.  I was fortunate to meet some wonderful mentors and friends along the way that made everything possible.  In the years I lived in New York and later in Connecticut, the quilt world opened up to me and I was lucky enough to get opportunities to meet people that have influenced the direction of the studio art quilt movement.

I now live in a small mountain town in Northern California with my husband, Ken and our long hair Chihuahua named Bear.  I do my work in a great studio space adjacent to our house and love my hours there.  I make wall hangings, mixed media work and other small works that sell in a couple of galleries nearby, and I occasionally make a bed quilt for a grandchild or somebody special.  I occasionally teach at a local quilt store and also at the local Bernina dealer, which gives me contact with all sorts of wonderful people.

My love for bright color and for an eclectic mix of imagery and words is my current interest and I am looking forward to new creative interests as they pop into my head and hands.  As long as I can be propped up at my sewing machine I will continue to pursue this wonderful art and craft!
